Hothic rock n’ roll at it’s best!

HOTHIC ROCK N’ ROLL AT ITS BEST!

Elias.T.Hoth put the furnace back in Furness as they say when they finally made it back to south Cumbria with a world beating performance at the Barrow-in-Furness R&B club on Friday the 12th August.

Once again the band really looked forward to playing to an enthusiastic and captive true blue collar crowd with the band once again delivering their very best for the Barrow Cavendish St venue audiences.

Elias.T.Hoth Lead Guitarist Nick Marland at his very best

The hot, hard ass mean kickin southern rockin boogie outfit kicked off at 9.45 when all hell broke loose with the band cranking out their Hothic classics opener “Mississippi Burnin”, which was one of many original classics played to open what ultimately proved to be a familiar red hot scorching gutsy set.

The band were also able at last to roll out and introduced their new drummer Dave West to the public. Dave a seasoned professional from Ellesmere port proved his vast experience, undoubted talent and class at what was clearly a hot bed of enthusiastic Barrow rockers and blues fans. Dave’s track record in the cauldron of live drumming arena brought so much to the show, with Dave setting world class standards right from the very start. Dave demonstrated to us all his superb timing, and delivery of his unrelenting pounding rocking beats, that had both the band and indeed the Barrow audience bracing them selves for what proved ultimately to be a brilliant thunderous drumming on slaught, well done Dave!

THE BAND

Dave was of course supremely supported by brilliant lead rock and blues guitarist Nick Marland. Nick again showed why he ranks amongst one of the best session lead guitarist in the UK today.

Shoulder to shoulder with Nick stood the ever present giant towering dynamic personality of bass playing of Cy Dark who with his by now familiar and powerful unrelenting rocking image propped up the old battle hardened snarling war horse supporting front man himself Elias.T.Hoth.

Our ETH technical manager Steve Brookfield engineered and produced a stunning gig along with lighting manager Gary who again produced a superb and stunning professional light show.

Special thanks also go to Laura for her special on the night PR support and sales pitch at the even, thanks so much again Laura for your time and efforts, they were very much valued and appreciated .

LOCAL FOLK

We must also highlight as a band that we were all so very please to see so many familiar faces and were able to meet and greet some of those special local people who attended and loyally support the Barrow R&B club scene. Many clearly took the time, trouble to support our second gig at Barrow this year and without doubt they all once again showed their real appreciation for yet another passionate night of Elias.T.Hoth’s original scorching southern Rock N’ Roll

GIG HIGHLIGHTS

One of the many highlights of the night was the performance of the slow blues number “Sleazy Hussy Fever” guitar solo by Nick Marland were the crowd openly acclaimed and actually cheered Nicks stunning lead guitar performance delivery during the actual song, certainly a first in my extensive and long experience. Similarly Dave West was able to deliver his very first rather savage and frantic technically brilliant and stunning drum solos, excellent stuff David!

Barrow R&B Personalities

Again we must take the trouble to highlight how pleased the band all were to see seasoned rocker Brian, a die hard supporter of Barrow live music scene. Brian was clearly very pleased to see us all again and certainly lead the charge when it came to getting up on the floor and actively boogying to the numerous hothic classics including “Wanted by the FBI”, “Mobile Alabama”, “Hex on you”, “Ozark Alabama Please” and “Rollin Thunda” to name just a few. Brian was also able to confirm Elias.T.Hoth were still one of his up and coming a top class favorite live bands and he was clearly relishing and very much looking forward to the release of bands new forthcoming album in the not too distant future.

We also were able to speak to Lorna another passionate Barrow blues club member, a lady who again was over the moon to see us and again and made it very clear just how thrilled she was to see the bands performing live again since Elias.T.Hoth’s visit to the club earlier last Januarys. Lorna’s is a clearly a very enthusiastic supporter and we as a band very much value and appreciate her and indeed all colleagues focus and commitment to our live music delivery performances. Of course there was the ever present formidable driving force behind the entire Barrow R&B Club organization in seasoned management team Joyce and Bill, who tirelessly organized yet another great live music night and should be again thanked for all their special efforts and stalwart commitment to keeping Barrow R&B Club alive and above all at the very top in the UK’s R&B venues.

So if you did’nt make it this time, perhaps you can make it next time at the Barrow venue and enjoy some of Elias.T.Hoth’s unique and original hard edged mean kickin southern rock and roll .
