ELIAS.T.HOTH TRIUMPH AT THE COLNE 2010 21st INTERNATIONAL AUGUST BLUES FESTIVAL!

ANYTHING BUT A QUIET NIGHT HOTH

10.00 August 29th at the 21st Colne international blues festival will certainly go

down in the annals of history as one of the great nights to remember!

The band had to bring in at the very last minute replacement session drummer Alex Atkinson a budding 22 year old from  Altrincham, who proved to be absolutely awesome and after rehearsing almost every night with the band last week all the hard work finally paid off.

Alex proved to be the drummer from hell, mammoth monster ball breaking hard rocking beats, with his own highly inventive self produced 2 min drum solo to die for that sent the entire 300 strong chanting Colne crowds wild. Alex’s savage drumming pounded on relentlessly throughout the night putting the super charged Elias.T .Hoth 12000 watt pa system in high octane overdrive over load.

The band would publicly like to thank Alex for his superb efforts and professionalism, Alex brought a great deal to the Hoth clan and the words “a magnificent performance” immediately comes to mind! Thanks so much Alex!

Demonic Bass player Cy dark rocked rolled and writhed in classic hothic style with dark liquid rolling bass lines  that just never seemed to end.

Sam Barnett again produced a monster seismic lead guitar solos  that were simply breath taking, Sam reinforced once again that he is beyond doubt one of the finest up and coming rock lead guitar talents in the country today!

Special thanks must also go to Carlisle based CA3 sound man  Steve Brookfield the Elias.T.Hoth engineer who master minded a sound and lighting show that was just simply breath taking.

It was also great to see some very welcome support from local Total Biker FM radio station, in the form of top TBFM DJ Mucka Jay and friends who attended the Live Colne gig I’m sure Jay will tell you all about the great night on the one and only TBFM Radio!

Elias.T.Hoth proved once again they are still one of the best live no nonsense, no messin, no mercy hard rockin southern bands in the UK today, above all you can be guaranteed Elias.T.Hoth definitely take no prisoners in their unrelenting hard rockin live performances!

Classic Rock Magazine’s Review of 100 Club’s Southern Evening

Here’s the review:

“Southern rock, UK style, comes to London. Classic Rock raises a glass or three at the Southern Evening, recently staged at London’s 100 Club.

Words: Xavier Russell

Southern rock, like hard rock and heavy metal, has always maintained its popularity. Bands such as The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Doc Hollliday and .38 Special are as popular today as they were back in the 70s and 80s.

And it’s not just in America; southern rock has always been very popular in Europe. In Germany there’s Molly Hatchet clones Lizard, who are still going strong! Back in the 1980s, England to could raise its own Confederate flag with acts such as Northumbria’s Splitcrow, whose album Rockstorm on the Guardian label (1984) caused quite a stir. And then there was Manchester’s very own Christian southern rockers 100% Proof, whose 1983 album The Power And The Glory was a mighty fine slice of .38 Special with a Christian twist!

And here we are in 2010 and the Confederate flag is still flying high with a Southern Evening at London’s 100 Club, featuring three very different bands, yet all with a southern tinge!

Opening up were the Snakeoil Rattlers (www.myspace.com/snakeoilrattlers), whose witty boast that ‘where the swamp meets the road you will always find the Snake Oil Rattlers’ could only mean a sorta cajun/bluegrass sound. The Rattlers have been knocking around since 2004, playing around The Swamps of London Town, and have built up a dedicated following judging by the cheering as the band launched into Road Tales, full of delightful chicken-scratch guitars, courtesy of Messrs. Barry Warren and Ryan Carr.

Elsewhere, Slow Train To Georgia and Nothin’ To Confess showed just what a tight unit the Rattlers are, and was that Made In The Shade, the ol’ Skynyrd classic? Hell, yeah. I will be checking this lot out again.

Next were Elias T. Hoth (www.eliasthoth.com), This ZZ Top flavoured quartet are from Manchester, and were recently voted Monsters Of Rock on Manchester’s 106 FM radio show. If you like your southern rock with a heavy boogie feel then you’ll lurve Elias T. Hoth. Elias himself looks like a haunted soul up on stage as he snarls: ‘Leaving Mississippi, heading down to Baton Rouge, killed a man up in Memphis wanted by the FBI.’ It’s boooogie all the way with this lot, and they don’t let up; in fact their set gets better as it goes along,

Yes, there’s a version of the Top’s Tush, but their own material is just as strong. Hex On You, with its Red Indian-style tom tom drums, is rip-roaring voodoo boogie, while Rolling Thunder showed off the duelling guitars of Elias Hoth and Sam. And the mainman likes to sing about Southern Belles, as on the mid tempo Sleazy Hussy Fever. I was well impressed; can’t wait to see this lot again very soon. I can also highly recommend their CD Let Sleepin’ Demons Lie.

And so to the headliners MelonheadMan (www.myspace.com/melonheadman). From Tunbridge Wells, Kent they are promoting recent album The Good And The Bad. Again, it’s a real mixture of styles: part Skynyrd, part country, part bluegrass and all moulded into MelonheadMan, fronted by Simon Savage who has the right kind of gravelly voice for this kind of fayre. He is especially potent on Bad Bob, Hey Baby and Devil’s Daughter (for Jim Dandy!). He’s blessed with a tight band backing him, honourable mentions go out to Tim Farmer (bass) Ted Rogers (guitar) and backing singer Melody Savage!

A very enjoyable evening, The south has risen again. Now where’s The Rebel Yell, Crown Royal, Wild Turkey, Jack Daniel’s…?!”

Hoth Live at the 100 Club, London.

SAM NO 1 IN DALLAS TEXAS

Elias.T.Hoth recently released a sneak preview of the new special live CD Album Let Sleepin Demons Live “ a live version of the blockbuster hit Let “Sleepin Demon Lie” album released last year!

The band have already scored a massive hit with original album last year on ASR, so in view of the enthusiastic feed back from ASR listeners we decided to give a special preview of the live album only to All Southern Rock listeners !

The new live album had only been on line less than 24 hours and already it’s proved to be real winner with ASR listeners with no less than 6 live album tracks already in the ASR requested top daily 10 ten play list!

What is even more remarkable is that in the ASR charts is that the bands live lead guitarist Sam Barnett’s LIVE unaccompanied improved stunning rock lead guitar solo and yes you guest it, its NUMBER ONE!

SAM LIVE AND LETHAL

SAM LIVE AND LETHAL

An unbelievable achievement by any one’s standards, As Sam said in a recent local radio interview recently “I had not rehearsed a particular fixed piece for the live set as such, me and the guys all just agreed that I would at that point play a 1 or 2 min self improvised lead guitar solo”, so on the night when we reached the end of the slow blues track Sleazy Hussy Fever no one actually knew what would actually come next “ and neither did Sam! Other than there would be 4 crashing chords before the band when into their album final classic block buster “Rollin Thunda”

So on the big night off Sam went and the audience went with him and certainly his own unique classic guitar staccato style that allowed frantic intermittent passionate shouts from the ecstatic audience! .

So if you want to hear more of Sam’s fret blistering lead guitar solo work you can hear it now on only ASR!
